David Miles Hogg was born on April 12, 2000, in Los Angeles, California. His father, Kevin Hogg, is a former FBI agent, and his mother, Rebecca Boldrick, a teacher. The deadly Stoneman Douglas High School shooting took place on Valentine’s Day February 14, 2018. A total of 17 died and many were left wounded. The shooter, Nikolas Cruz, a former student was apprehended. Hogg and several other students tried to exit the building during the incident. They were instructed to go back to their classroom by a school janitor. They ended up hiding in a classroom closet. Other members include Alfonso Calderon, Sarah Chadwick, Jaclyn Corin, Emma Gonzalez, and Cameron Kasky. They’ve since called out lawmakers and the National Rifle Association (NRA) to make changes. The group helped organize the March For Our Lives campaign. Hogg has been featured on television programs like The Dr. Phil Show, Real Time with Bill Maher, and 60 Minutes. He appeared on the cover of an April 2018 edition of Time magazine. Hogg’s stance has also sparked several conspiracy theories. He has been called a crisis actor by some theorists.
