Bill And Wendy Hornbuckle Lists Las Vegas Starter House For $3 Million
CEO and President of MGM Resorts International, headquartered in Paradise, Nevada Bill Hornbuckle who hauls in an annual salary of $2 million as CEO of MGM Resorts International (plus more in discretionary bonuses), has sold his Las Vegas area starter home for $3 million, some 10 months after he and his wife Wendy paid $8.25 million for a more impressive estate nearby.
According to Dirt, Set on almost half an acre within Henderson’s guard-gated Anthem Country Club, the two-story home measures a commodious 8,525 square feet with six bedrooms and six and a half bathrooms. The Hornbuckles didn’t get much more than the $2.81 million they paid in February 2005, according to Clark County property records.
The listing by Jana Shore, with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services, describes the home as situated along the resort community’s fifth and seventh holes, with views of the craggy mountains and neon-lit cityscape. The buyer was repped by Jason Smith of Holmes Realty LLC.
The home is designed for entertaining, with a grand entrance, soaring ceilings, a majestic staircase, and an elevator. The living room has a fireplace and bar, the dining room opens to the entry courtyard with its outdoor fireplace, and the top-of-the-line eat-in kitchen is bathed in light thanks to a huge skylight.
The larger of the two primary suites is on the first floor. A double-door entry opens to a separate sitting area, two large closets, and a morning bar, along with a spa bath that’s complete with steam shower, jetted tub and dual lavatories.
Other highlights include a home office with a built-in fireplace and courtyard access, a movie theater with a wet bar, and a 600-bottle wine cellar. Perfect for in-laws or live-in staff, the property has a casita with a bathroom and its own entrance through the courtyard.
The Hornbuckles’ new home, also within the gates of Anthem Country Club, but in the more exclusive Sanctuary section, sits on a 1.25-acre blufftop parcel with views of the surrounding mountains and the Strip. Weighing in at more than 8,300 square feet, the single-story home offers six bedrooms, six bathrooms, and a chef’s kitchen, along with a guest cabana alongside a resort-style infinity-edge pool.
