Unexpected Trend Shifts Movies To February
For a movie to emerge as a super success or to become a disaster does not entirely depend on the content and promotions. The audiences’ mood and the circumstances along with luck also can turn the tables in the least expected ways. The movies that did not have extraordinary content or stars surprised all by turning out as blockbusters when theaters opened for the first time after the Covid break.
In the latest happenings, the situation seems to be the opposite of it. The audiences are not in the mood to visit the theaters irrespective of the hit talk and good reviews for films. For instance, Ori Devuda and Urvasivo Rakshasivo garnered decent reviews and talk, but they did not reflect much in footfalls at the theaters. Instead, people are preferring to watch Brahmastra and PS 1 on OTT.
Worried about this unexpected and strange progression, the filmmakers are making swift changes to the release dates of their movies. Tamil superstar Dhanush’s movie Vaathi (Sir in Telugu) was supposed to come to theaters on December 2 but has now moved to February. The same is the case with Kalyan Ram’s Amigos and Allari Naresh’s Ugram, as they moved to February 10 for release instead of December from the previous plans.
For now, Samantha’s Yashodha is coming to theaters on November 11. Also, Allari Naresh’s Itlu Maredumilli Niyojakavargam is hitting the screens on November 25. There are movies like Hit 2 coming on December 2, Raviteja’s Dhamaka releasing on December 23, and Nikhil’s 18 Pages on December 23. It has to be seen how these films get their verdict from the audience.
